Firewall settings

The following firewall settings should be set on the Indeed ESSO server and on the user workstations with Indeed AM ESSO Agent installed:

  1. Port 53 DNS (TCP and UDP) should be opened for all processes in both directions. This port is used to determine whether a network connection is present.
  2. Port 3268 Microsoft Global Catalog (TCP) should be opened for all processes in both directions. This port is used to search for the Indeed ESSO servers.
  3. If the Indeed ESSO server was installed with Use static port option enabled, then you should open the required TCP port (23809 by default) for all processes in both directions. This port is used for data exchange between user workstations and Indeed ESSO servers.
  4. Disable the IPS (Intrusion Prevention System). If IPS is enabled, the firewall blocks outgoing requests to unknown DCOM interface. In this case, connection to Indeed-Id server can not be established.
  5. Port 135 (RPC) should be opened for all processes in both directions. This port is used for data exchange between user workstations and Indeed-Id Enterprise Server.
  6. Port 389 (LDAP) should be opened for all processes in both directions. This port is used to access the Active Directory (while looking for Indeed-Id Enterprise Server as well).
