Environment requirements

The following environment is required for correct operation of Indeed AM Windows® Logon:

  • Configured DNS server (Reverse lookup zones should be added). DNS server parameters should be defined in network connection settings at each workstation.

Required administrative privileges

Local Administrator privileges are required for the Indeed AM Windows® Logon installation.

Firewall settings

To provide for correct operation of the Indeed AM system, the following firewall settings should be changed at the Indeed AM Server and the workstations with Indeed AM Windows® Logon component installed:

  1. Port 53 (DNS )(TCP and UDP) should be opened for all processes in both directions. This port is used by the Indeed AM system to determine whether a network connection is present.
  2. Disable the IPS (Intrusion Prevention System). If IPS is enabled, the firewall blocks outgoing requests to unknown DCOM interface. In this case, connection to Indeed AM server can not be established.
  3. Port 135 (RPC) should be opened for all processes in both directions. This port is used by the system for communication between user workstations and Indeed-Id Server.
  4. Port 389 (LDAP) should be opened for all processes in both directions. This port is used to access the Active Directory (while looking for Indeed AM Server as well).
